Manny, Matt, Levi, and Gabe make up The Spring, a four man band who strives to capture the spirit of their town through every song they lovingly produce and put out. One such song is titled “Victoria” and is to be dropped on August 16th of this year. In anticipation of this release, we have the honor of being able to interview them. So without further ado, The Spring; 1. You recently performed at the NAAM (Twice, summer and winter!). How did that go? How did those shows differ from any other performances of yours?
Both of the NAMM shows we had the opportunity to perform at where absolutely amazing. When performing at a NAMM event, you are playing a stage that has top of the line gear, so the mix is always phenomenal, and the crowd exposure on both main stages is unreal. It was such a great show and we feel blessed to have performed both events.
2. You've got a new single titled "Victoria" set to come out on August 16th. How would you describe the sound and vibe to new fans or those who have not yet heard of you?
Victoria is a pleasant mix of everything that The Spring has to offer. Flowing and melodic verses, that cascade into a harmonic guitar lead, that then blasts you into a catchy chorus that you can't help but sing along too. We really hope that the fans have as much fun listening to it as we did recording it.
3. The name "The Spring" brings a sense of freshness and the term "revitalization" to my mind. What made you choose this name and what exactly do you want people to think of upon hearing the name?
I think you hit the nail on the head with this one.
We came up with the band name after we played a few shows, and people came up to us proclaiming that our sound was new and refreshing, something that they had not heard in the Alternative genre before. We took that as a huge compliment, because that's what we strive to do in this band. Write and perform music that tastefully strays away from the norm, that everyone can get hip too. 4. What was the inspiration behind your upcoming single, "Victoria"? Contrary to popular belief, this song is not about a girl named Victoria, but instead the Latin spelling of Victory. This is a song about overcoming what you once thought you couldn't. It's about the heavy silhouette of society telling you how you should live your life, and others telling you to stay in this safe lane that a majority of people follow because of how we are all raised. This is a song about following your dreams, no matter how big or how small. It's a song that I hope will inspire people to look into the mirror every morning, and no matter your situation, saying that i can make today a victory. 5. What's next for The Spring in 2019 and beyond? We have big plans to do another tour on a bigger scale, because we are so eager to play for our fans all across the United States! We will of course be releasing new music as much as we can, possibly another EP or even an Album. Just depends on how busy with the live shows we are.
6. Anything else you want to say to those reading?
Thank you as always for taking the time to read up on us, and check out our music. We hope that we can impact your life in some positive way, and we would love to meet all of you at an upcoming show.
7. What pastry represents you as a person?
Guava Cream Cheese Pastelitos!
8. Does pineapple belong on top of pizza?
Absolutely not...
9. What's your favorite sitcom?
The Office of course.
10. If you were an instrument, what instrument would you be and why?
Definitely a steel guitar because of the soulful sounds that one can get out of playing one of those bad boys.
11. If you could describe your style with a type of ice cream, what would it be?
Mint chocolate chip is truly the most inspiring flavor. Zinging your taste buds and rounding out the edges with the fullness of the chocolate chips, then leaving you with an incredibly fresh/minty taste in your gullet.
