It's only April and I know we all feel like we've been under quarantine for years! Keeping busy during this period is more difficult than we all thought it'd be. We talked to Alex of Young Culture, Pete of Neverkept, Fredo of Fredo Disco, Here is how your favorite artists are keeping busy!
Have you been working on any new content during this period?
Alex: Totally, everyday is a new writing opportunity. I find myself recently trying to write for the vast majority of my day but not trying to force anything unnaturally. it’d be silly not to.
Pete: Yes, more than ever actually. When our last tour was canceled midway through because of the pandemic, the band headed back to Jersey and have been quarantined together to work on our new record.
Fredo: We were hoping to have new releases out sometime in the Fall,but with this global pandemic going on, it may be pushed back sadly.
Have you picked up any new hobbies or skills to keep you entertained?
Alex: Personally, nothing new. Just trying to work out everyday, write, practice and sleep well.
Pete: No new hobbies necessarily other than getting more into the possibility of streaming. We have been focusing on writing the past month,experimenting a lot with vibes. We are currently at around 20 demos and still writing for another couple of weeks.
Fredo: Cryptocurrency! We believe that decentralized banking is one of the most important technologies of our time period for both investment and preserving value. It's not something you would expect to hear from a band but it goes along with our outside view of the world.
Are you doing anything to keep the fans entertained during this quarantine?
Alex: We've been doing tons of livestream stuff, it’s fun for me to do too. I love having that social interaction during these lonely times!
Pete: Outside of working on the record we've been compiling footage for upcoming studio update videos and planning out new ideas with live streaming. Currently working on acoustic renditions of the released singles as well as a newer song or two,possible live hangs while writing and working on something outside of the box including Animal Crossing. Won't get into the last idea just yet but I will say Neale has been super busy this past week.
Fredo: We started a weekly Instagram Live series we call “Fredo Fridays” with Q&As, giveaways, guest appearances and live performances. Check out our Instagram for info and updates @fredo.disco . Also everyone please stay safe during this unprecedented and weird as hell time.
